On Wednesday afternoon, Max Roberts on behalf of Anderton’s attended the Q Guild North West BBQ Heat with some fantastic products that we sell all year round in our Longridge and Clitheroe shop.
The competition is a Bake Off Style event with regional butchers competing for various awards and prestigious titles. Each product has to be cooked on a BBQ by the entrants themselves. Once each product is cooked they are judged by an independent panel of judges who each have years of experience within the meat industry.
As the day went on, sausage’s sizzled, burgers browned, and flames flew, until it was time for the winners to be announced. We were absolutely delighted and proud when we were awarded with The Best Steak in the North West of England Award for our Ribble Reward Steak!
This is a fantastic achievement and we put this down to the quality of our produce and passion in our work! It also gives us a shot at The National BBQ Heat where we will be aiming to take the title of The Best Stake in The United Kingdom!
All in all this shows that our values in quality of food from farm to fork is not underestimated, that from the time Brendan spends nurturing cattle down on his farm, through the process of butchery, the maturing process, and all the way through to the correct cooking. It just goes to show that all the time, effort, enthusiasm, vigour and verve, which all the family and their team of loyal staff put in, really does pay off!
